How to Play Archie

“Archie” – Draw Variant (x3)

  • The best qualifying high hand often shares the pot with a qualifying low. If not, high or low only can scoop.
  • Players need a pair of 6’s or better to qualify for high, and an 8-or-lower to qualify for low (like A-5 below).
  • Aces can be either high or low or both if someone makes both a low and a flush or a wheel for a straight.
  • Players are dealt 5-cards then allowed to exchange 0-5 cards up to 3 times after betting on each round.
  • There are 2 betting rounds of 4-chips then 2 betting rounds of 8-chips. Cards are dealt between rounds.
  • On showdown if all players went high, then the best high scoops. If all went low, then the best low scoops.
  • Otherwise, high & low chop the pot. If no players qualify for high or low, the best high card(s) wins all.
