How To Play Super Stud 8 or better

“Super Stud 8 or Better”  – Stud Variant

  • The best high hand will scoop the pot unless there is a qualifying low that will chop the pot.
  • Players need five unpaired cards 8-or-lower to qualify for low. High-card qualifies for high if no pairs.
  • Aces can be either high or low or both if someone makes a low with an A-high flush or a pair of aces.
  • Players ante 1-chip and high card showing on 3rd street brings it in for either 1 or 4 chips.
  • Players start with 4 cards down & 1 up. They must discard 2 of their down cards before 4th street is dealt.
  • Players continuing on 4th street can call the 1-chip bring-in, complete to 4-chips, or raise 4 more chips.
  • From 4th street onward the game deals just like 7-Card Stud where 4th, 5th, & 6th street are dealt face up.
  • 5th, 6th, and 7th street bets are 8-chip increments. 7th street is dealt face down before betting & showdown.
